 The Temporary Graduate visa is an essential bridge for students who have completed at least two years of study in Australia. It grants full work rights, allowing you to kickstart your professional career in the Australian workforce.

Applicants must generally be under 35 years of age (with certain exceptions for Hong Kong and BNO passport holders) and must have held a student visa within the last six months.  

Key Streams & Eligibility

  • Post-Higher Education Work Stream For university graduates (Bachelor, Master, or PhD). Duration varies from 2–4 years based on the qualification.
  • Post-Vocational Education Work Stream For diploma or trade qualification holders with occupations on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL).
  • Second Post-Study Work Stream Available for those who studied and lived in regional Australia, offering an additional 1–2 years of stay.

  • Location You must be physically present in Australia when lodging your application.
  • Fees Government charges start from approximately AUD 4,600 for the primary applicant.
  • Compliance Requires a valid Australian Federal Police (AFP) check, adequate health insurance (OVHC), and meeting English proficiency standards.
