Quota Exhausted & New Pathways Announced 🚨

The Northern Territory has officially exhausted its interim allocation of subclass 190 and 491 state-nominated skilled migration visas for the current program year, making it the first jurisdiction in Australia to do so!

This rapid uptake highlights:

  • âś…High Demand for NT’s migration program
  • âś…The strategic appeal of NT’s regional designation and targeted nomination criteria

🔍New Remote Job Pathway – 491/190 Access

Exciting news for workers in very remote NT regions (excluding Greater Darwin, Palmerston, Litchfield Shire and surrounds):

Applicants with any valid skill assessment, including roles like security guard or store person in areas like Barkly or Alice Springs, may now be eligible for nomination under the new pathway.

⚠️ Important:

  • Employer support is mandatory
  • Strict eligibility rules will apply

🎓Student Migration Update – 190 Priorities

NT has introduced a priority system for 190 nominations:

  • Preference is given to applicants currently employed in their nominated skilled occupation
  • Lodging early won’t guarantee selection unless this condition is met
  • Other applicants may be considered gradually, once priority candidates are processed
